I wish I could explain just how much I love these wood pictures frames from Dollar Tree, if you see them SNAG one or two! I've used them for so many different projects, I think what I love most is they don't have any glass and it comes with a little peg you put in the back to make it stand. It's truly the little things in life that make a crafter smile! If you didn't already know, I love black, white and RED!! Red probably being my favorite color ever, and thankfully it's used in so many holiday decorations. So, when I was cruising around hobby lobby and found these adorable pieces of scrapbook paper I instantly was in LOVE.

I grabbed this little love cutout from Hobby Lobby too, they have a lot of different sayings that are handy to have in my craft stash. First things first, I quickly decided I wanted to use the stripped paper on the frame vs. painting it. Here's what I did.
I took the inside little card from the middle of the frame, then traced the frame onto the stripped paper. I then used the card from the middle and traced that onto the heart paper. Once I had both pieces cut out, I used mod podge to attach to the picture frame, when dried and smoothed out, I then did a small coat of mod podge over the top. Then I replaced the middle section back into the frame. You'll see in the picture below that the edges of the paper needed smoothed out or trimmed off. And the wood edge of the frame needs painted.

I took my sanding block and went around all the edges to remove the excess paper, then used my Waverly antique wax paint to paint around the edge of the frame. I also painted the love cutout in red.

I used a little hot glue to attach my love cutout and it's done!! So cute, absolutely love that it is black, white and red for Valentine's Day fits right in with the rest of my home decor. Such an easy makeover project and quick too. Hope you enjoyed this fun Valentine craft!!
Until next time,
Jill
