Hello!! I hope you are cozy warm wherever you're reading this, because here in Kansas it's cold! Brr!! I read something a few days ago that said spring is 50 some odd days away. Well, my thought is if it isn't snowing it might as well be warm! Says the gal who's going to Colorado next week, but you know what.. there will be snow there!!
Anyway, I was dreaming of warm weather and decided I'm ready to jump into Spring designs!! So I paired my two favorite things together! Stripes and Spring!! If you've followed along at all or if your new here you'll quickly see. I like striped clothing, ribbon you name it!
I was looking for a pretty little sign to add to a wreath I had in mind, and finally I realized I had everything I needed to make what I was looking for. How great is that, perks to being a crafting hoarder!
I made a quick little video for you to see how simple and easy it was to create this sign.
I used a blank wood sign I purchased from Walmart. You can find them in the craft section and they are perfect for this kind of project. In addition to the sign I used:
1" blue painters tape
Black Anita's craft paint from Hobby Lobby
White Anita's craft paint from Hobby Lobby
And a couple of foam paint brushes. Now, I do have a Cricut machine, that is how I cutout my Welcome Stencil, but you could also print out welcome on paper and trace it on your wood with graphite paper(found at hobby lobby), then paint. Super easy! Didn't the sign turn out cute! Quick too, not as quick as the video, but just a few minutes.
Here's the beautiful spring wreath I designed with that adorable striped wooden welcome sign. Now don't get me wrong, you could use this sign for any wreath or just as a simple addition to your home décor.
I just love it! The wreath itself it bright and cheerful perfect for spring. A classic black and white sign is perfect for any door. I found the beautiful peachy/coral flowers as Walmart and Michaels. Most of the greenery came from Walmart. Designing this wreath on a grapevine base gives a little bit of texture and rustic look to balance out the bright flowers while the black and white makes it pop. I'm hearing the peachy/coral color is hot for Spring. Check out Michael's for an entire "Peachy" section of spring décor. If your into ribbon you might want to add a bow, I thought about it and decided I liked it without.
